New series! ICO was a game made by ICO team in the early 2000s. The game released after it, Shadow of the Colossus is must more well known but a lot of the "quiet world" design elements were first shown off in ICO. This book which was released a few years later, was written by Miyuki Mizabe and translated into english by Alexander O. Smith.
So far we have been having a great time with the book! In this episode we cover the first chapter and a little bit of the second which adds a bunch of story and context to the game.

Welcome to the FINALE of Dark Souls: Masque of Vindication. This book was terrible. Not going to pull any punches. What you are about to listen to is a podcast episode featuring two men just absolutely losing their faith in a book.
During the Whaddya Playin segment, Kevin gets really nerdy about Marvel Snap, a collectible card game for your phone featuring Marvel Characters. See it's actually really good because it's– oh I'm being told to stop talking about it.
Enjoy the finale of Dark Souls: Masque of Vindication. There is no Masque. Or even a Mask. It's a bummer. Next week we will be starting what is shaping up to be an EXCELLENT book in Ico: Castle in the Mist, which is based on the early 2000s game ICO.

Welcome back to Dark Souls: Masque of Vindication! We had a little more trouble with this section and it feels like we are starting to go off the rails a little bit with this book. We are introduced to some new characters. Those characters go away though so don't get too attached. Phil's cat interrupts by trying to climb the grate on his computer. It's a barrel of laughs and fun!
We really want to stress that we think Michael Stackpole is a good author, and that we have, in fact, read a bunch of his stuff and it was good. Regardless. This book!
During the Whaddya Playin segment we discussed some interesting titles, such as Card Shark, and How Fish is Made.
